Our Recipes & Ingredients

About our recipes...

At Natural Instinct, we never compromise on quality or price. We do not use artificial additives, colours, preservatives, fillers, or grains; our complete recipes contain only the freshest meats, fruits, and vegetables.

We believe a raw diet is best for your dog or cat, as their digestive systems are, by nature, designed to process raw meat and vegetables and retain their natural nutritional goodness. Our food is the perfect choice, as it provides your pet with all the essential proteins, fats and nutrients they need to function at their best, just as nature intended.

Variety is the spice of life, so we love developing new raw recipes and limited-edition seasonal recipes such as our Christmas Feast. With our expansive range of flavours, you'll find something to satisfy all dogs' and cats' taste buds and needs.

Our Ingredients

Chicken

The chicken we use at Natural Instinct is ethically sourced. We don’t believe in battery farming, and we don’t believe in feeding our pets food we wouldn’t consider good enough to eat ourselves.

Lamb

Natural Instinct lamb recipes are naturally higher in fat and an excellent energy source for dogs that need to gain weight or use up lots of energy at work.

Beef

We source our beef from a local supplier - it’s a staple favourite of many dogs and an excellent protein source.

Green Tripe

Our only non-human grade meat, green tripe, is a natural source of digestive enzymes that help to purify and cleanse the blood and remove toxins, parasites, and fungus. Green tripe also improves metabolism and hormone function while boosting the immune system. It is also a fantastic source of natural probiotics.

White Tripe

Our white tripe is green tripe that has been washed and has had the fat trimmed. We use this particular tripe in our Natural Special Diet as it is easily digestible, which is excellent for dogs with sensitive digestion. It is also very low fat, so it is perfect for dogs that need to lose weight. Our white tripe is washed, not bleached, ensuring all quality nutrient values are maintained.

Turkey

A much drier meat than chicken, turkey is ideal for dogs allergic to other protein sources. It is also relatively low in fat, so it is excellent for doggies on a diet.

Duck

Our duck is sourced from one of the finest game suppliers in the UK. Duck is relatively high in fat, so it can help with weight gain and is ideal for working dogs with higher energy levels.

Salmon

Our salmon is responsibly sourced from Scottish salmon farms and is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D. Salmon is perfect for dogs' immune systems and joint health.

White Fish Mix and Herring

Like salmon, our white fish and herring mix is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin D. It is a low-calorie protein source, making it the perfect ingredient for dogs and cats who need to lose weight.

Fruit & Vegetables

In our recipes, you'll find fibre, omega-3 essential fatty acids, enzymes, antioxidants, phytochemicals and soluble carbohydrates for energy, which are all necessary for keeping your dog healthy and full of life. As dogs cannot break down cellulose, we grind down all our fruits and vegetables twice to ensure your pets can absorb all their beneficial goodness.

Our complete recipes for dogs include:

Carrots - High in fibre and a good source of antioxidant-rich beta-carotene, well known for its eye and skin health benefits.

Butternut Squash - Antioxidant-rich, high in fibre and a great source of vitamin C.
